Today was Claire's first day at her Japanese preschool, called Yochien. The name of her yochien is Kawashimo and the free Japanese to English translator online says it means "downstream."
But I think it means "Down this path." |
When you walk up to Kawashimo, you are greeted by a playground that doesn't scream "American preschool playground", but is very exciting, in a non-OSHA approved way!
Are you ready for us, Kawashimo?????
Our friends, the Razvillas', brought two of their four children here (2004 - 2007) and their favorite teachers, or Senseis, are still here!
This is Sensei Ai. Kristen tells me she loves Dr. Pepper. ☺ |
The kids wear uniforms every day and we were there to try them on to get the correct size.
A bit blurry, but this is her summer hat. This picture makes me laugh because Claire gets herself dressed in the morning and her shirt was on backwards. I mentioned it to her and she said, "That's okay." ☺ Then she tried on her summer hat and it's on backwards (tag in front) too! |
This is her winter hat. |
We told Claire to take off her clothes and she did and then started taking her panties off too! This is her winter uniform bottoms. |
And this is her winter uniform top. With her panties on. ☺ |
After the fashion show, Claire went over and started playing with the toys. |
These are her school supplies. They even gave her some scissors! |
There's a birdie at the entrance. Not sure her name yet, but Claire says it's a "Mommy bird." Probably because she's so pretty. ☺ |
Claire is in the Tamago class which means "Egg". She then becomes a chicken. Cute, huh? Can't remember the Japanese name for that. | |
We then went exploring on the playground. Claire loved it!
Gigi was ready to go home.
We're not sure what the spiral slide is for, but maybe a fire escape?
We'll see you tomorrow (well, actually, it was today, but I'll get to that blog in a bit)!!!
